"This is exactly what I was hoping for. Silk like softness with insane breathability. I literally keep my AC 6 degrees warmer now and my wife is very happy about the new electric bill. Could not be better"

Your Skin and Hair and BleuBully Bedding

Your Skin and Hair and BleuBully Bedding

Here at BleuBully Bedding we believe that it is the desire of most of us to have healthy skin and hair.  And as a bonus, when our skin and hair are healthy, our skin and hair will also look healthy!

But…Did you know that our skin and hair are an actual reflection of our inner health?

To understand this, it helps to have a little understanding of the anatomy and physiology of human skin and hair.  Our skin and hair are part of what’s known as the Integumentary System of the human body, which consists of skin, hair, nails, and exocrine glands.

Did you know that skin is the largest organ in the human body?

Our skin is only a few millimeters thick yet is by far the largest organ in the body. The average person's skin weighs 10 pounds and has a surface area of almost 20 square feet. Skin forms the body's outer covering and forms a barrier to protect the body from chemicals, disease, UV light, and physical damage. Hair and nails extend from the skin to reinforce it and to protect it from environmental damage. The exocrine glands of the Integumentary System produce sweat, oil, and wax to cool, protect, and moisturize the skin's surface.

Hair is an accessory organ of the skin made of columns of tightly packed dead Keratinocytes found in most regions of the body.  Keratinocytes are named for the protein Keratin, which they produce in large amounts.  Keratin provides structural integrity and toughness to the skin, hair and nails. Hair helps to protect the body from UV radiation by preventing sunlight from striking the skin. Hair also insulates the body by trapping warm air around the skin.

So…What are some of the ways we can keep our skin and hair not only healthy but also looking healthy?  This question leads back to how our skin and hair is a reflection on our inner health.

We should…

  • Eat a varied diet that includes lots of colors and textures.

  • Increase our protein and iron intake.

  • Limit our alcohol consumption.

  • Limit our sugar consumption.

  • Favor healthy fats over processed and saturated fats.

  • We should drink plenty of water – 11.5 cups (2.7 liters to 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of total fluid, depending on activity level, temperature, humidity, etc. is recommended by the Mayo Clinic.  That recommendation includes water intake and fluid from all sources such as cantaloupe, strawberries, watermelon, cabbage, squash, lettuce, juices, mill, tea, coffee, etc.

  • We should all have a Skin Care Routine.  A consistent Skincare Routine helps protect our skin from environmental damage, maintains the skin barrier function, prevents and treats skin conditions and helps to keep our skin looking its best at every age.  It is not just about aesthetics – it’s an essential part of maintaining our skin’s health and function.

  • We should all use Sunscreen – The American Academy of Dermatologists recommendations for Sunscreen are:  *Use a broad-spectrum Sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays. *Use a Sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher. *Use a Sunscreen that is water resistance.

  • Cigarette smoking is extremely damaging to our skin and overall health. So…Don’t smoke and if you do smoke, quit.

And…Last, but certainly not least, the bedding we sleep on for approximately One-Third (1/3) of our lives has a direct impact on the health and appearance of our skin and hair!

Knowing that our skin is the largest organ in the human body, it stands to reason and it is easy to understand that any substance, and in the case of bedding – any fabric, that comes into direct contact with the skin and hair has a direct impact on the health and appearance of both.

With BleuBully Bedding’s, 100% TENCEL™ Modal Fabric that is used to manufacture our luxurious Sateen and Jersey Knit Sheets, Pillow Cases, Duvet Covers and Shams, you can be assured that you will be sleeping on one of the premier fabrics that can rest against your skin and hair for long periods of time.

But…Why?

Sleeping on proper bedding is crucial for the health of your hair and skin.  The materials used in bedding can significantly impact skin hydration, moisture management and overall skin health. 100% TENCEL™ Modal Fabric is known for its breathability and moisture-wicking properties, which helps to keep the skin hydrated and reduces friction.  100% TENCEL™ Modal Fabric is gentle on the hair which reduces breakage.

So…Choosing 100% TENCEL Modal Fabric for your bedding can lead to improved sleep patterns, reduced allergic reactions and a more restful night’s sleep!

And further more…

  • BleuBully Bedding’s 100% TENCEL™ Modal Fabric is OEKO-TEX Certified, which means it has been tested by world renowned textile experts and has been certified that it is free of harmful substances, carcinogens and toxicity!

  • 100% TENCEL™ Modal fibers are smoother and less likely to trap allergens, making them more hypoallergenic than cotton, which means your skin is less likely to suffer from itching, rashes or irritation.

  • Because moisture plays an essential role in skin comfort, choosing the right fabric can help prevent irritation.  100% TENCEL™ Modal excels at moisture management by wicking sweat away from your skin, reducing moisture retention that often triggers discomfort and irritation.

  • If you have sensitive skin or skin conditions such as acne, eczema or psoriasis the moisture control of 100% TENCEL™ Modal Fabric can considerably lower the risk of rashes, itching and skin condition flare-ups.

  • 100% TENCEL™ Modal Fabric’s superior softness is well known.  This quality reduces friction and irritation which makes it ideal for your skin and hair, especially if your skin reacts easily to rougher materials or your hair suffers from easy breakage.

Know…When you choose to sleep on BleuBully Bedding’s luxurious, buttery soft 100% TENCEL™ Modal Sateen and Jersey Knit Sheets, Pillow Cases, Duvet Covers and Shams means that you get breathable, gentle fabric that supports your skin’s natural temperature balance which helps you to stay cool, comfortable and without irritation throughout the night.  Which in turn helps to lead to not only healthy skin and hair but also healthy looking skin and hair!

And…who doesn’t desire to have both?

Sleep Well!
